artemide melampo floor lamp

this melampo floor lamp by artemide was one of the first floor lights to use pivoting head technology to vary light direction. though fairly conventional in appearance with a simple tilting motion the shade can be positioned at a 30 degree angle which is perfect for reading or task working. it can also be pointed straight upwards to create an up-lighter effect. the melampo floor lamp was designed by adrien gardere and it comes in two sizes and two finishes - aluminium structure with a silver grey silk satin shade or bronze structure with a neutral coloured shade. the larger version also features a dimmer to vary the level of illumination.
